This recipe is a twist on a classic favorite often referred to as "Chocolate Delight" or "Better Than Sex Cake"! It's an easy cake to make and tastes amazing straight out of the refrigerator!
Ingredients
-
Southern Roots Sisters Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
-
1 egg
-
1 tsp vanilla
-
1 stick softened butter
-
1 8 oz brick softened cream cheese
-
1 c powdered sugar
-
16 oz cool whip thawed, divided
-
2 (3.9 oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
-
4 cups cold whole milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F and follow instructions on Southern Roots Sisters Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix mixing with your egg, vanilla, and butter.
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Press cookie dough evenly into dish using your fingers and bake at 350F for 18 minutes. When complete, allow cookie to cool for 1 hour.
Mix softened cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 cup of cool whip together until smooth. Spread evenly over the top of the cooled chocolate chip cookie crust.
Follow instructions on instant pudding mix and whisk together 4 cups of cold milk with both packages. Let stand for 5 minutes to allow it to thicken. Pour and spread evenly over the cream cheese layer of the cake.
Spoon remaining cool whip over the top of the cake and place in fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with chocolate curls, chocolate chips, or chocolate syrup if desired.
